Celebrating Youth!

Wisconsin Youth Company's 11th annual showcase of positive youth development.

Enjoy four stages of youth performances, a visual art exhibit, activity areas for hands-on fun, and exhibitors with resources for youth and families.

WHEN: Sunday, January 31, 2010 11 am to 5 pm

WHERE: Monona Terrace, Madison WI

WHY: The purpose of this event is to celebrate the amazing talent and dedication of our youth, and to give them a chance to shine and share their passions with the public. It also educates families about opportunities for youth in our community.

This year's theme is "Weaving the Web," highlighting the connections between all of us. Attendees can visit the "Global Villages" activity area to explore and experience the arts of different cultures, participate in a group weaving project to create a tapestry of our community, learn about spiders and how humans and insects are linked, or watch dancers and singers. We'll have 40 different youth performance groups on four stages (over 550 performers!)

According to Gerri Gurman, director of the Tai Chi Animal Frolics performers, "The event is always a very high quality experience for audience and performers. It showcases the best of youth talent in the area. It permits groups from various ethnic backgrounds to share their artistry. It is a wonderful and very meaningful event, like no other! I am always impressed with the talent and diversity exhibited here. No other large-scale exhibition comes close to the quality and manner of presentation that is hallmark of Celebrating Youth."

The event is free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $1-2.
