The Madison-based independent film and video group Blame Society Productions has announced that it is holding open auditions for its next round of online comedy shorts, scheduled to begin shooting shortly. Operated by Matt Sloan and Aaron Yonda, the group is best known for the viral success of the Chad Vader series, which was launched just over one year ago. Now with new productions on the way, Blame Society is looking to expand its talent pool.

"We have a core group of people that we tend to work with, but we're looking to expand that," says Sloan. Auditions are being held for several upcoming projects, including a new series titled My Fist Is a Weapon, season 2 of Chad Vader, and more; production should be kicking off "very soon" he says. Some roles are paid and others are unpaid, depending oneach project's budget.

Sloan explains what they'll have an eye on in the auditions. "Mostly we're looking for people capable of being spontaneous and versatile, and are able to take something and run with it without a lot of rehearsal," he says. "Our tight schedule doesn't allow for a lot of rehearsing, so we want people who can get on their feet quickly." Acting experience is secondary, he notes.

Anybody interested in auditioning for upcoming Blame Society video productions is requested to email Courtney Collins and provide name, email, and phone number for additional information. Auditions are to be conducted in Madison over the next several weeks. Those auditioning will not need to prepare anything, says Sloan, as they will be doing cold readings of previous Blame Society material.

Sloan and Yonda remain busy as they gear up for their new projects; following recent meetings in London and New York, they'll be heading for Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend.
