For the second year in a row, the Madison Center for Creative & Cultural Arts (MCCCA) has organized a circuit of weekly performances at public parks around town. Called the Culture Coach Summer 2007 Tour, this free 13-week event features a community drum circle, main performance and a closing dance nearly every weekend through the end of August.
The tour made its third stop of the summer last Saturday at Goodman Park on the city's south side, in the Bay Creek neighborhood. The performance was titled "Dance Madison Dance!" One person attending the show shot a trio of video clips featuring an improvised Argentine tango and demonstrations by several pairs of social dancers.
These live dance videos follow below.
Couples and singles interested in learning tango can do so with the Madison Tango Society, which holds lessons and practices on Tuesday evenings at MCCCA on West Dayton Street behind the Overture Center. The Culture Coach, meanwhile, makes its next stop this Sunday at Marlborough Park, with a show by Tony Castañeda.
