With March Madness rapidly approaching, we're in the antipodean realms of football season. That doesn't mean we shouldn't joke about the sport, though, especially when it comes to the Packers. But that's exactly what Nick Mortensen -- winner of the 2005 "Funniest Comic in Madison" contest put on by The WiSUC Project -- does in a stand-up performance he delivered last month in Marshfield.
"The last home game of the year I sat a few rows ahead of a kid at Lambeau Field in Green Bay," notes Mortensen in the introduction to a video clip of his bit. "It was something of an eye-opener."
The very brief comedy clip follows below.
Mortensen describes himself as a lifelong fan of the Pack, an important element in his blogging on Nietzsche or Nitschke?, a look at the life and times of the "all-too-human Green Bay Packers."
More information about the comedian can be found on his MySpace page and Wikipedia entry. Mortensen has also served as the host for What's Your Damage, an open mike devoted to the reliving of teenage angst, which is held the last Monday of every month at Genna's Lounge on the Capitol Square.
