Few things are more frustrating to a musician than having one's equipment stolen. The Madison blues rock band Fedora reported on Sunday that a bass cab belonging to one of its members was taken from his car during a recent smash-and-grab.

"Anyone who sees an EV bass cab meeting the following description should report the incident to Fedora for beat down or Madison police for arrest," announced the band on Sunday. They describe the missing gear as an old four-wheeled EV cab approximately 2.5 feet wide by 1.5 feet high with an unwired horn and the letters "E" and "V" printed on its front. The group then encourages viewers to get a better look at it in a series of online videos from a pair of recent shows.

Fedora was founded in the summer of 2005, and features Alec White on vocals and rhythm guitar, Eric Ziegler on lead guitar, Garrett Wartenweiler on bass, and Derek Hendrickson on the drums. They perform a mix of originals and covers of blues and rock standards, and are preparing to record their first full length album.

It's been a busy autumn for the band. In addition to competing in a battle of the bands for Freakfest 2007 at the Majestic Theatre on October 24, they also played a series of shows this autumn at the Klinic on South Park Street and at Murphy's Tavern by MATC Truax. A handful of live concert clips of Fedora playing at these recent gigs follows below, starting with a video of them playing "Dogcatcher" at the Klinic on Saturday, October 20.

The Klinic most recently played host to Fedora on Saturday, November 10, when six more video clips were shot of the band in action. These feature them playing a cover of Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Leave My Girl Alone" (here), a cover of The Band's "The Weight" (here), as well as their own "Firebath" (here), "Vampire" (here), "Fine Line" (here), and finally, "Cocaine Johnny" (here). More music by the blues rock quartet can be found on their MySpace page and Broadjam profile, the latter of which includes an extensive photo gallery and listing of online tunes.

The next show for Fedora will be on Wednesday, November 21, when they will play at the Ludlow Bar in Monroe. They'll be returning to a Madison stage on Friday, December 14 with a show at the new Murphy's Tavern on East Wash.
