Track of the Cat
Released: 1954
Rated:
Now Playing? No
Tensions simmer and boil in a family isolated by mountain snowfalls and menaced by a predatory cougar. A reunion of director William Wellman and novelist Walter Van Tilburg Clark (The Ox-Bow Incident), and also the product of an unusual photographic experiment; though shot in color, the backgrounds and subjects are almost completely black and white. Wellman counts it among his favorites. (M.W.)
Trade
Released: 2007
Rated: R
Now Playing? No
A Mexico City street hustler (Cesar Ramos) teams up with an American insurance investigator (a woefully miscast Kevin Kline) to find a sister forced into the international slave trade. The film deserves credit for alerting us to this outrageously evil enterprise, but director Marco Kreuzpaintner’s desire to both entertain and inform gets the best of him. (K.W.)

Tragedy of a Ridiculous Man
Released: 1980
Rated:
Now Playing? No
A complacent Italian businessman sees his world collapse when his son is kidnapped by "terrorists." His life suddenly becomes agonized, absurd, an evil, pointless farce with mysterious puppeteers pulling the strings. A minor but pungent little film, from the prodigious Bernardo Bertolucci (Last Tango In Paris, The Conformist), full of light-hearted malice and cruel irony. Ugo Tagnazzi is marvelous s the father. (M.W.)
Trail of the Pink Panther
Released: 1982
Rated:
Now Playing? No
A "posthumous" Peter Sellers comedy, rather bizarrely contrived from Inspector Clouseau out takes (mostly from the original 3 1/2 hour Pink Panther Strikes Again), mixed in with a memorial retrospective from the earlier films. Too much of a patchwork, though the individual slapstick scenes are gems. (M.W.)

After cleaning up and moving from Edinburgh to London, Mark finds he can't escape the life he left behind when Begbie shows up at his front door on the lam, and a scheming Sick Boy follows. (TMS)
Traitor

Rated: PG-13

The FBI chases a U.S. military operative (Don Cheadle) who is blowing up embassies in Europe and executing attacks on U.S. soil. Traitor is a rare Hollywood creature: an action picture with ambiguity. (J.R.)

While Ryan debates this offer, he also pays secret visits to his kid brother (Jon Daugherty). (TMS)

Transformers
Released: 2007
Rated: PG-13

The big-budget tale of warring robotic clans is more entertaining than you might suspect, thanks to some ingenious effects work that turns what could have been another chunk of loud summer crud into an action mindblower. The movie works best if you set your mental phasers to "dumb" and just go with it. (M.S.)

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Released: 2009
Rated: PG-13

Michael Bay's follow-up to his international smash of 2007 ups the ante on big and dumb. A clanging, full-metal racket from start to finish, with only the rare narrative pause for dramatic scenes devoted to exclusively human interactions. (M.B.)
