There's nothing like a late summer work week, especially for an elected official with plenty of public appearances to make.

Following morning engagements at a pair of conferences (for Wisco police chiefs and against global warming) early in the week, Cieslewicz is set to hit the links by late morning. On Monday, he participated in the 100 Black Men of Madison golf tournament at Bergamont Golf Club in Oregon, and will be playing The Oaks in Cottage Grove on Wednesday in an invitational benefit for the UW Burn Center and WAFS Burn Camp.

That's simply par for the course, along with a vacation day on Friday and a retirement party on Thursday afternoon. Take a look at that morning, though: "work time," "phone calls," and "correspondence"? Aren't these daily responsibilities for hizzoner? In context, perhaps these activities should read: "Catching up before the start of the late summer recess."
