The chair / Treasurer of the Brown County Republican Party has been charged for extremely inappropriate behavior with two teen-age boys. The bad behavior was in November 2006, complete with police intervention. Criminal charges were not filed for ten months. He didn’t bother to retain an attorney for three weeks after charges. The Republican Party claimed ignorance of the charges until he was outed by bloggers. Only then, did the local Gannett newspaper, mention the case.
It took alert bloggers and an Air America morning jock to bring the case public. It simply isn’t credible that nobody in Green Bay, Wisconsin, would notice the Republican Party Chair Donald J. Fleischman, was in open court on felony child-molesting and drug charges. Court records allege that Fleischman enticed two sixteen-year-olds from a youth rehab home across the street. They say he fed them beer and cannabis, as well as involved them sexually.
The court reports are graphic. One boy is described as bringing Fleischman to climax with, (please forgive me) a foot job. Eeeewwww..
Here’s the Court Timeline given. There is absolutely no public mention, news coverage, or neighborhood notice given of these events.
Nov 3, 2006 – ACO (minor 1) moves to Ethan House, a home for troubled boys
Nov 5, 2006 – ACO and second teen, visit Fleischman’s home at 1121 Goodell St.
Nov 17, 2006 – Second teen re-visits Fleishman, who offers haven if the boys run away.
Nov 18, 2006 – ACO goes AWOL from youth home.
Nov 19, 2006 – Green Bay Police find sixteen-year-old ACO, wearing only a tee shirt and underwear briefs, hiding in the walk-in closet in the upstairs of Fleischman’s home at 1121 Goodell St.
Nov 22 and 29, 2006 – ACO tests positive for THC, both times. After the second test, ACO visits Fleischman.
Nov 30, 2006 – ACO runs away, to Fleischman’s 1121 Goodell address. Literally across the street. Fleischman takes ACO to an Appleton motel, where inappropriate stuff happens.
Nov 31, 2006 – Halloween. Fleischman takes the kid to a family cabin in Goodman. This is Friday. They stay until the following Monday.
Dec 8, 2006 – Green Bay Police officers Reetz & Allen, remove the teens from Fleischman’s home.
Dec 11, 2006 – ACO gives deposition, stating his recollection of the events and allegations against Fleischman
Sept 7, 2007 – Nine months later, four felony and one misdemeanor charges are filed against Republican Chair Donald J. Fleischman. These include Child enticement, giving drugs to children, and sexual activities with children.
Sept 28, 2007 – Defense attorney Jeffrey Jazgar, enters as counsel. Defense agrees to motions with stipulation that Fleischman move from proximity to the youth home, within ninety days.
At this time, the whole case is not being made public, and despite it being on the court docket, no local media makes any mention of the charges.
The case gets no public exposure until Madison bloggers notice. Regular Madison.com Forum poster, Goofticket, noticed the case on the public Wisconsin Circuit Court listings. In Wisconsin, that is public access. A Democratic State Senator is attempting to end that access, which we are opposing. More on that later though. Look at how the second timeline played out.
Oct 10, 2007 – 9:59pm, Case is posted on local forum by Goofticket. At 9:59 pm, I verified that the information all checks out according to online court and election records. Yes, another Republican officer is being charged with man on boy action. It’s taken as amazing there is no coverage.
Oct 11, 2007 – At 7:20 am, I call in the open line to Lee Rayburn’s show on 92.1 The Mic, our local Air America affiliate. Deliver an on-air rapid-fire bit about the local Republican man-on boy scandal that nobody knows about. At 7:50, Rayburn is referring to it as “alleged scandalâ€Â

This is fascinating. I've come to expect, since moving down here, that Green Bay/Appleton area news doesn't filter to Madison that often. But learning now that even the northeast Wisconsin media isn't covering it is amazing.
I've said some disparaging things about goofticket, and I generally stand by them, but congratulations to goofticket, BobA, and the rest of the people pushing the issue in the media.

Wonkette has picked up this story:
Fleischman apparently took the boy to some remote cabin in the woods (surely a log cabin), plied the kid with beer and marijuana, and then repeatedly tried to get busy with the teen in bed. The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports;
The boy told police that when he would go to bed, Fleischman would fondle him and that on one occasion he awoke to find Fleischman at the foot of his bed masturbating.
Kudo's to goofticket, hawkeye, Lee Rayburn & BobA for pushing the story into the spotlight.

I'm propbably as hetero as one might be. There's always been out gay folks in my social circles. The guys who are all paranoid about gays seem to always, and I mean always, be closet cases. The louder the whine, the deeper the curiosity.
Woe Now and trollinator should get a room, screw each other blind, and get over it.
This constant stream of Republican scandals has inspired me to create a new voo doo doll. It represents the "Closet Caucus" of the GOP. It will be based on the cartoon below.
Uncle Jumbo
These dolls are already listed on the Zenger.us site. Give me a week to finish and I'll post pix there with a link here.

If talking to you, it would be more like reflecting.

Not having had sex with a man is probably the best qualification. I could still join the US Marines, except I'm too old and listed as a national security risk.
About the only gay guy who ever bothered to hit on me was a tender at the Shamrock, who passed on a while back. The point is, who cares? I'm really not particularly interested in other people's sexual play. Please, don't share.
Guys who are worried about other people, have insecurity problems. The amusing angle to me is the hypocracy of the publically phobic politicians who are total queens. Politics interests me more than sex.

Pay attention Ned, and repeat after me, "IT'S ABOUT THE HYPOCRISY, STOOPID", not to mention the criminal behavior of another Republican.

Hmmm. Either you're not doing it right or you are REALLY a policy wonk.
Then again, there are some people who consider them one and the same. For some reason, John Gard's name comes to mind (no pun intended).

This makes me feel a little better.
The linked article doesn't make the connection (and you may or may not be able to open it, because the Janesville Gazette's site sucks), but WisPolitics does:
Dem 2nd Congressional District chair Randy Udell, facing a charge of lewd and lascivious behavior following a sting operation at a public park in Rock County, resigned last night.
In fairness, though, he was following Larry Craig's MO and hitting on a cop, not going after underage boys.
