Well, I personally don't believe that there's ever been such a thing as "The Tea Party". As George W. Bush was leaving office with record disapproval ratings, the Republican brand was in trouble. Creating fake grass-roots organizations under a different name enabled Republicans to energize voters who lacked any real motivation to vote. The whole thing has been a sham from the get-go, and given that there isn't a single congressman in Washington who has a (T) next to his name should be proof enough.

They're just Republicans. They've always been just Republicans.

When a right-leaning Democrat occupies the Whitehouse, the crazies in the Republican party need to distance themselves, thus the Tea Party. We have seen this before with Clinton, who also drove the Republicans crazy bragging about stealing their positions from "ending welfare as we know it" to NAFTA.

Many of my Republican friends WISHED the Tea Baggers were dead. I don't think they are dead, they just smell that way.

Considering the pro-corporate, war mongering, empire building, labor-hating, bankster loving Democratic party, maybe the question should be, "is the Left dying?"

The internecine warfare between the GOP establishment and the Tea Party faction has come out into the open. John McCain leads the charge.

A long-simmering feud between establishment Republicans and tea partyers broke into full view, with Sen. John McCain accusing younger colleagues of overplaying their hands and tempting Democrats to change Senate rules that protect the minority party.

I hope McCain is right and the Senate gets rid of the 60% supermajority rule, thereby ending the silent fillibuster.

If those perceptions are accurate, then they portend the resurgence of the Left, not its death. That is, if by Left we mean the anti-free enterprise, pacifistic, utopian, Rousseauian, Marxian... Left.

That's great news! A continuation of having the Republicans fighting among themselves and fielding nutty candidates who can't win can only be a positive for Democrats.

I don't see how the zombie party could be dying, since – by definition – it's already dead, and only carries on by tea-bagging the living.

Well I'll be damned, wack wack, looks like you nailed it:

Report: How GOP lost young voters

“Policies that lower taxes and regulations on small businesses are quite popular. Yet our focus on taxation and business issues has left many young voters thinking they will only reap the benefits of Republican policies if they become wealthy or rise to the top of a big business,” the report says.
