Man, people sure love hatin' on Morrissey. I only posted it in reference to English musicians who really, really hated Margaret Thatcher, and I think it's a pretty good example.
As to "Viva Hate", it's the only solo Morrissey album I own and I think it's pretty good. Not Smiths good, but I suspect you guys hate "The Smiths" too, so that's probably a meaningless distinction.
And yeah, I recognize that Morrissey has a long history of being an insufferable douche. I heard he actually walked off the stage at Coachella, complaining that the smell of burning meat was making him nauseous. And he was a freakin' headliner!
But the next time a superstar band credits Chuck Schick or Dan Motor for inspiring them to make great music, you guys let me know. I'll have to assume you guys own no Radiohead, Oasis or Shins albums, because surely the awful stench of Morrissey's influence corrupted all of their music.There is a Light That Never Goes Out
