Looking around the web, I see that many other viewers of the debate had an impression of Obama similar to mine: he made very poor eye contact. It reminds me of some advice Jason Joyce gave to Segway Jeremy Ryan last year:

Oy, that's painful. [http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/990526101001/]

The only way to win that is to refuse the invitation to appear on TV. Has Jeremy Ryan ever, once, refused such an invitation?

Tip to Jeremy: Those who avoid looking into the camera, as you do here, appear shifty and untrustworthy.

Give the man a break. That was his prayer card, the one with the prayer to St. Jude patron saint of lost causes. Seems to have worked.

Are you saying that you haven't made up your mind as to for whom you will cast your ballot? Will the debates somehow make you switch your vote after you have trashed Obama and supported the Tea Party cause in your prior posts?

Don't bullshit us.

Henry what part of "fuck God" do you not understand?

What part of "abortions should be universally available and encouraged" do you not understand?

What part of "gay marriage should be legal everywhere" do you not understand?

Try to stay with me now gramps...it is possible to be FOR all those things and still be AGAINST Obama. Now I know you in your little black and white world will not understand this. But that's because you are old and have a foolish consistency.

Truth be told I am leaning to Romney. Will watch the remaining debates with an open mind. Your mind on the other hand, is closed.

Perhaps you need to drop more acid to fix that.

So you are a libertarian. Many of them vote GOP.

Now tell us who you have supported from day one.

If day 1 is Obama's first day in office, then it's Obama since I voted for him.

Do you care about the rest of the days since then Henry? Of course you don't.

Who have you supported from day 1?

Cmon Henry, answer one question!

I have never supported Romney. You seemed to have since he became the GOP nominee. Maybe you had visions of Ron Paul before that. But you, like your mentor, post mainly about who you oppose and seldom about who you support.

Of the three random people I had long conversations with yesterday up at the rally on Bascom Mall, all three had voted for Obama in 2008. Two of the three told me they would be voting for Romney next month. Two were women in their forties and one was a man in his sixties. One of the women who plans to vote for Obama is president of the Madison Common Council. The man was there with his wife who had gone in to see Obama. He offered me his ticket but I said no thanks. The other woman who plans to vote for Romney seemed a little sad about it. She said she liked Obama and had high hopes for him four years ago but she and her husband owned a small business and they couldn't afford four more years like the last. She didn't have a ticket but she went through security anyway with such aplomb that no one asked for her ticket. I was impressed. She just wanted to see the POTUS and probably got a really good view because she was one of the first few hundred to get in. Probably wanted to say her goodbyes. Classy lady.

Is it really that hard to say it Henry?

Everyone here already knows, why can't you say it?

Is it guilt?

This reminds me of when Fonzie had to admit he was wwwwwrrrrrrooooo....

Cmon Henry! I'll help you out.
