We've used the Davies brothers for two big projects and one smaller in the 25 years we've been in our house - finishing the basement, building out our 3 season porch (tearing out walls, pouring a new floor, then finishing the new space into a year round space), and installing new picture window, front door and a smaller window. We've been more than satisfied with the work, they're great guys to work with, genuinely nice people, lots of ideas. We've recommended them to several friends, who've used them. They're not the cheapest outfit in town. Yours might be too small a project for them, at this point, if you know what I mean. They use very good subs too (Hill Electric, etc.). Check out their website. They also have a showroom of some kind (I've never been there) in Monona.
We used a guy named Steve Jackson from McFarland to remodel our kitchen. We were very satisfied. He's a friend of a friend, and he did the friend's and the friend's son's and a co-worker's kitchens and all were satisfied. We were very happy with the price and the quality of the work. Carpentry is Steve's thing, but we liked the work from the subs (drywall/painter guy and electric guy) very much too. I also had him install a storm door which required some "waterproofing" on the surrounding wood. He did a very good job, no leaks since. Steve Jackson Carpentry: 608-320-1849.
