If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

Its time for you all to start minding your apostrophe's now.

Consider two very different imperatives:
Come on, people!
Come on people!

I counted eight, but one is a duplicate. And I'm not a great grammarian.

Anybody else? I count ten in the main part of the post, even before getting to the "OK quiz time" part...

Eleven errors, though some are of the same type.

Agreed, some are of the same type.

I don't think you can get eleven in there without pushing the boundary between "error" and "difference of opinion" pretty far, unless you're counting non-punctuation issues (or if you extend it into the OK quiz time line).

But I could be wrong!

Excellent -- I missed #3.

I'd say that #7 is potentially disputable. If you replace the semicolon at #6 with a comma, then you'd also need one at #7, but some would argue that no commas are needed at all in that sentence.

In addition to Flag Day, National Punctuation Day is one of my favorite holidays. I let the colons, semi-colons and commas fly with abandon!!!

Without the semantic fiber of punctuation, one's intent remains amorphous and tends to linger in the colon. This sometimes causes an infection of the semi-colon which then has to be surgically removed.
