If you haven't listened to Lualdi you can check them out here:

http://www.myspace.com/lualdi

They're playing their first gig this Saturday opening for Rookie of the Year at The New Loft.

Their music definitely passes the car stereo test drive.

Come on out and sample some new local talent! 8)

Agreed, the music is good. But does every song have that irritating effect on the vocals?

I dunno, I'm an old fogey. Maybe that is what the kids are into today.

Try listening to them again, but in a different car.

OK. But before you write me off completely...

In all reality it is not anything I would ever get into, but was trying to be nice to the kids.

EP - I got one of their demo cd's (free) when they were passing them out at the mall promoting themselves. They seemed like fun and their music is catchy. I'm sure if you go to the show they will have cd's there... does your pinto play cd's?

Eriedasch - No worries and thanks for being nice!

Jaunton - You, my friend, rock

Contrary to common belief, the Motorz and associates do not own this forum's collective opinions on music.

Lualdi: Is this seriously your first ever gig coming up? What you've got recorded so far is pretty damn good, especially from a songwriting point of view.

My suggestion: Record all of these tunes again after you've played a lot together. What you have so far is good, but overly produced/edited/processed. You should sound like a live band rocking out, electronics and all. Rehearse a lot, book and play a bunch of kick-ass gigs, get tight, and record it.

Regarding eriedasch's comment-- Yeah, lose the default lead vocal processing. I liked it when I first heard it with Daft Punk, but now it's a really dated sound (at least to use all the time-- every sound can be used creatively in some context). Your singer seems to have a decent voice; let it show.

Overall though-- great start.

I don't know if you know this, but we're kind of a big deal...(for a crappy local rock band that hasn't played together for a couple years...)

IMHO the trendy production and over auto-tuning is getting in the way of what seems like totally decent songwriting. Take beans advice. Practice up until it hurts then record again with at least a little less ProTools (not that I'm against using technology just don;t make it a member of the band). It's covering up a lot of good things.
