Madison & WI Price scans?

Postby Justcub » Wed Jun 27, 2007 9:32 pm

Anyone know the definitive regulations on price scanners ringing up the wrong price and what the stores here in Madison have to do to correct it?
If it is just changing the price or is it actually having to give the item for free?

Also not originally being from WI, I know in IL when a stores run a special say 4 for 10.00, that in IL if you only want one item they still have to give it to you for 2.50... that doesnt seem to be the case here in WI.
I was at Walgreens and the item was on sale 2 for 4.00, yet when it was wrung through it rang up at 2.29 (and even at that it should have only been 2.19) the clerk corrected the dime diff, but shouldnt it have been the full 29 cents?

Thanks for the Input..

Stores are only required by state law to refund the difference.

I've seen stores offer the item for free as a matter of store policy, but not lately.

In Wisconsin, stores can legally make you buy multiple items to get the sale price. Many stores don't, but it is legal here.
