Not to dwell on this but I googled that and the only related thing that came up on the first 2 pages was a link to this thread on TDP. Must have been an opinion piece or something because I work for the place and never heard a thing about it. Not to mention the company has been family owned since it's inception (1960's?) and would be pretty big news if anything remotely close to a buyout was even "rumored".
And to clarify, yes TDS is one of the few Telecommunications companies that does not eagerly give out phone records to any governmental body without an official court order specifying dates, times, and reason for request.

I've had Metrocom DSL for a number of years and for the most part satisfied, but I know plenty of other people who have had problems and just as many headaches dealing with customer support so I'm not here to defend that. Just would like to see the facts kept up on the local alternatives to corporate giants like ATT (formerly SBC, formerly SBC Ameritech, formerly Ameritech, formerly....).
