I assumed you were talking about your crazed forced abortion idea. My bad.
I also assumed you weren't poor, because most people don't go around trying to categorically impose forced abortions on themselves.
I'm all in favor of the government offering free optional birth control and reproductive education to everyone, and for paying for their abortions if it comes to that.
Is that what you're suggesting? Because it doesn't get much more lefty than that.

Is birth control or drug testing or gov funded abortion(optional not mandatory) realistic options?
Optional abortion was never a part of your platform. I don;t want the Government telling anyone they must have an abortion anymore than I want them telling them they can't have one. It's really a dumb idea. Mandatory birth control? No on that one as well. They should provide access to it, encourage it's use but NEVER use it as a prerequisite for assistance. It doesn't jive with some people's religious views and that should be respected.

That is very close to what im suggesting and dont really care what label(lefty) that pidgeonholes me to. My 1 change would be mandatory birth control for people on certain gov asssitance programs. Ive never considered myself poor, probably because i dont agree with how society gages it, but by most peoples and the govs definition i most likely would be and have been for most my adult life.

I'm not going to give you a pass on your complete turn-around like these other more generous forons. You don't nonchalantly suggest mandatory birth control and abortion. That was the platform, that was the pronouncement. Backtrack all you want, but what was written here is mindblowingly ignorant and dangerous. If you truly believe even an iota of what you wrote Peacetrain, you're not someone I want in my world. You will now try to suggest that it was all a ruse in order to get a rise. I don't buy it for a second. Once again you make a leotarded statement and try to back off it after you get called out.
I think I'm pretty much done. You're hedging on IAAITW territory.

I suggested we move on from it because it became the sole focus of what i believe is a worthwhile discussion.

How about mandatory abortions for the first 12 months of the year and a free pass during the 13th month? worthwhile discussion.
Nope. None of that here.

Just the thought of a woman being forced to have an abortion against her will turns my stomach. Can you say Civil War II?
I'm for gov-funded, no-cost birth control programs - non-mandatory of course.
I'd like to thank everyone on this and also the Pot thread for finally dumbing themselves down to my level. Dumb-dumb.

As it should. But seeing the life that so many kids are destined to live because of the irresponsible decisions their parents made, like continuing to reproduce when they cannot properly take care of the kids they already have, turns my stomach as well.

You're a guy, right? How does forced castration sound to you? Go fuck your bong, doggy style for once.

I know, people try to invoke it as a scare tactic against legitimate scientific research. Here in Madison, we have a peace-loving forum poster who wants to bring it back into style. For reals.

For child molesters it sounds great, for fathers that have shown they have no intentions of supporting or parenting their kids it sounds pretty good as well.

wow, I forgot that I started this thread. I can't believe you guys went to Nazis. That said, I'd just like to let you all know that the crazy couple in the section 8 no longer causes trouble. The boyfriend apparently killed the girl accidentally during an altercation and was arrested, at which point the police found quite a bit of meth. Quite a show. Last I heard from Dale (Synergymus) was he went to pdx to pull the plug on his Dad and his car broke down. He was shot while attempting to rob a convenience store in South Dakota for money to get back home. At least he'll never know the baby wasn't his. The end. ok, I made that up. It got cold and everyone went inside for the winter. They're probably humping to keep warm.

Reproductive freedom is part and parcel of a democratic society
No, but after 20+ years of working with people that had to scratch and claw to try and get the help they needed(too often denied) i saw a lot of them feel like they'd been kicked in the head by something. Maybe if we stop using up so many resources on the ones that continually make poor decisions(having 2 more kids while already being reliant on the gov.) we'd have enough for those who truly need and deserve them. With freedoms(and rights) shouldnt there be responsibilities? When people prove that they have no desire to live up to those why shouldnt the gov take away some of those freedoms? Plenty of ways that already happens.
