Did you vote yet?

Postby Henry Vilas » Sat Nov 01, 2008 6:50 pm

I voted a couple or three weeks ago, late morning on a Monday. Short line at the C/C Bldg. I wanted to make sure my registration was in order after Van Hollen got involved in the process, and I'll be out of town until late Tuesday.

I've voted in every election since I became eligible at age 21 in the early 70s. My first time was with absentee ballot when I was overseas in the Navy.

What's your story?

' bout four weeks ago, I decided to make sure my address change was recorded at the City-County Building. I went with a few pieces of proof, just in case. Since it was possible to get the whole deal done, right then, I did so. Very few people voting at that time. Then I rewarded myself with a Plaka breakfast. A satisfying morning.

I figured anything to take the heat off the polling stations ought to be good. Less chance for Brown Shirts to cause trouble.

The lady wants to go as a team, and I like to take election days off and revel in it. So we'll go Tuesday AM.

And once Van Hollen lost, I felt like the pressure was off to get it done early.

I'll never get used to "'Sconsin." I understand you don't intend lady in the same sense as "Me and the little filly," but still.

In any case, thank the gods for universal suffrage.

I voted about a week ago. I'm working on Tuesday and don't like long lines.

It has nothing to do with "'Sconsin" (and god, I hate that fucking abbreviation). It's a synonym for "girlfriend," "SO," or what have you. Shit, it's got more to do with The Big Lebowski than anything else.

Just stay away from his fuckin ladyfriend!

I'm not a resident of Madison, and can't find a sure answer of where a Fitchburger like myself can vote early, so I'll just go Tuesday.

Sorry to pick this up a little late, but the better half and I voted today at Fitchburg city hall, on Lacy Rd.

Went today because the Voter Public Access website didn't have my registration on file (I registered to vote in Fitchburg in February, the day of the primary) and I wanted to make sure everything was okay. Sure as shit, they never recorded my registration, so I registered and voted today.

After 2.5 hours of standing in line.

We'll get in line at 6:30 tomorrow morning. I don't expect a huge line that early, but we'll take coffee just in case.

I like going to the polling place, seeing neighbors and friends. It is like the Willy St. Fair in that there are some people that I only get a chance to catch up with on election day.

We'll likely go in the afternoon to avoid the lines.

I voted early back when Van Hollen was causing trouble. I had no concern whatever about being challenged, but if he'd prevailed it would have caused quite a mess on Election Day and I wanted to avoid it.

#18 at the downtown MATC. In line by 6:40, out by 7:15. Glad I got there when I did. There was a long line of students by the time I left.
