Favorite TED talk?

Do you watch TED talks? Got a favorite?

I liked this one by Elizabeth Gilbert the author of "Eat, Pray, Love"; you creative types should watch it.

Great talk!

I see he has a net worth of $ 1 billion. I wonder what his opinion is on the other topic du jour, the 2 Wisconsin billionaires paying no State income taxes due to investment losses.

I always liked when he'd yell at Carla to get back behind the bar.

Yep. Like Warren Buffet, he helps mitigate the perception that all super-wealthy people are thinkers of convenience.

My cable is gone for now, so I’m digging into TED talks on Netflix.
I started in the “Brave Neuro World” due to my personal experience with head trauma. So far my favorite is Jill Bolte, for many reasons. http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/jill_bolte_taylor_s_powerful_stroke_of_insight.html
She loves her Bro, like me (tho mine’s not schitzo-p;) He’s way less crazy than me! Shout out to Dan--i.e., the original “My Buddy!”

I also really liked Jill’s method of presentation. She brought a lot of description and emotion to her TED talk. You almost felt like you experienced her stroke right there with her. The inner hippie-chick in me enjoyed her description of “Nirvana” and “a world filled with beautiful, peaceful, compassionate, loving people.” I’m going to try to remember that when someone cuts me off on the beltline next time [red mini-cooper, I’m looking at you].

This quote also hit home for me: “Here I am with my mama, who’s
a true angel in my life. It took me eight years to completely recover.” I’ve already mentioned my mom is an angel on Earth, and she has helped me recover from many things in my life. I like to think I help her too, in a few small ways. (B-bog, maybe you feel the same way about your ma? I liked your TED rec, too.)

My mom’s Dad, my Grandpa Z, who the kielbasa recipe is for, also had a stroke, so Jill's talk hits really close to home for me. He was a true gentleman and a hero to me! Thanks Mom and Grandpa Z!
