Anyone know of a barbershop that offers a shave?

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it fits here

A quick check of the searchtrolla feature yielded no results. Does anyone know of a barbershop in the area that offers a shave?

I've never gotten a shave there, but at College Barber Shop on State, the barber used a straight razor and hot lather to clean up the back of my haircut.

So I imagine you could get them to use the same on your face.

Ah, the traditional shave. Such a great feeling. I love those. Though I only get them when I really feel like treating myself.

Cha Cha on E Mifflin offers this type of shave.

I seem to recall theres a barber on Monona Dr. that also does it, but I can't recall the name or where it's at. Just that someone mentioned it to me.

Sorry I'm not of more help.

It is beyond great. The last time (and it was a while ago), I didn't get "5 o'clock shadow" for two days. I actually looked younger.

Oh, you guys make me laugh! If you would just be good to yourself a little more often, that way, you'd feel less angry and more optimistic, industrious and generous.

Last time I was getting my haircut, I told my hairdresser, a bit of self-care is a great anti-depressant. She said,"Ofcourse!"

The key to a great barber shop shave, or so I'm told, is hot towels, good brushes, and good shaving cream. The face is supposed to be covered with a steaming hot towel. To apply the shaving cream, a silver-tipped badger brush should be used to spread fine english shaving cream.

Do Cha Cha or the college barber shop go to those lengths?

yes, cha cha does this. i'm not sure about the silver tipped badger brush, but thats less important than hot towels, IMO.

I think Don at College Barber Shop does is for like 8 bucks. He's quasi-retired now and only works Tuesday and Thurdays, so he may or may not be doing shaves. My guess is he'll still do it.

Every now and then I'd see someone getting one there. Pretty cool.
