This is pretty hilarious, IMHO.
The Republicans have been insisting that any bill to avert the "fiscal cliff" has to consist mostly of spending cuts, not tax increases.
But ... when the Democratic negotiators ask them which spending cuts they want, the Republicans suddenly get cold feet
. They want spending cuts, but they want the Democrats
to propose the spending cuts.
Sorry, guys. It doesn't work that way. The Democrats are not going to negotiate with themselves. If you want to demand that the bill include hugely unpopular cuts to social security or medicare, you need to own that.
