I'm watching that too. I went to the beltline traffic cams to see if that is the route they will take to Wright Middle School, but all the cams are down. The Secret Service is very efficient.

Traffic cams came back up, not no live streaming. I see that MSNBC is covering the Wright speech. I bet FOX doesn't.

Edit: MSNBC cut away and FOX is now covering it. I wonder what their spin doctors will say after the speech is over.

If they don't say that Obama speaking at J. Wright School wasn't somehow a tacit message of support for Reverend J. Wright, then I'll be very, very disappointed in the creative writers at FNC.

Main reason for posting: we've got this article on security surrounding the president, which is complete public-relations ... stuff.

Walter, could you provide an inside scoop on what went on? I'm intensely curious what local law enforcement is faced with when the Secret Service starts calling the shots.

Aside from shutting down streets today for the motorcade, I can't. Even if I knew more, I would not say.

The Secret Service works well with local agencies here and is very professional, courteous, and respectful. It's not like in the movies where they are portrayed as a bunch of egotistical jags running around stepping on toes.

It was my day off and I wasn't part of the big show. I spent the majority of my day putting my motorcycle away for the winter and raking leaves. Sorry I can't be more help to you.
