Felonies dismissed against Robby Kuenzi in Waupaca County deer slaughter case

http://www.postcrescent.com/article/200 ... ocated=RSS

WAUPACA — A judge has dismissed animal cruelty counts against a Weyauwega man charged with running down deer with his snowmobile, throwing into doubt the felony cases against two other men prosecutors say participated. Robby Kuenzi, 23, faced five felony charges of animal cruelty, but Judge John Hoffmann dismissed them Thursday after Kuenzi’s attorney, Thomas Johnson, argued his client was actually hunting with his snowmobile. Johnson’s argument was bolstered by the fact the state Department of Natural Resources cited Kuenzi for hunting out of season.

This is so wrong i don't know where to start. Thanks to the wisdom of Judge Hoffman and an inept DA, we're going to have to deal with the actions of these sociopaths at a future date.

Someone is getting paid.

I thought this was about hunting snowmobiles too. Maybe you do that by harassing them until they drop dead.

The lawyer tried to get away with this:
At a May 12 hearing Judge Philip Kirk denied a dismissal motion that was argued on slightly different grounds on behalf of Rory Kuenzi.

Rory Kuenzi’s attorney, Troy Nielsen, pointed to ambiguous language in the statute that refers to animals “belonging to the person or another.” Nielsen argued that the animal killed must be pets or livestock to qualify under the language, but the argument was rejected.

So do these guys do the same thing to their pets?

The beauty is that we can run over deers and it doesn't even have to be hunting season. Yay! I am DEFINITELY opening up a new tourist destination.
Sorry for the guerilla marketing tactics.
Stay tuned...

If they were out hunting, they are certainly allowed to do so. Wisconsin law says so.

So they could run down their pointers or setters and get away with it. And if they owned some deer they could too, well, they already got away with that.

Really? Can you site the statue, please, that clearly states one can hunt down deer with a motorized vehicle when the deer hunting season has expired? This is ridiculous. I think hunters would shun this type of behavior. These guys ever come brag-assin' about this where I'm from they'd leave the town with a few less teeth. Karma has a funny way of working though. I won't be surprised when these jack-asses are found tits to the sun with their heads on one side of the barbed wire and their "snow machines" on the other. Gotta love that Coors Light and NASCAR crowd! One more question...did they have guns or are they felons not allowed to possess?
