If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

More head-in-the-sand-see-no-evil from the feds:
But missing among the statistics are numerous cases of anti-abortion violence in the United States,

Though the database includes the 2009 murder of prominent abortion doctor George Tiller by an anti-abortion extremist, it is effectively whitewashed, making no reference to abortion in the entire entry. In the summary, Tiller is described merely as a "medical doctor,"
...
But it doesn't include the 2007 attempted bombing of an abortion clinic in Austin, Texas.

Our friends at Uppity Wisconsin have been following this story.

The clinic and one its doctors had been targeted by 'pro-life' groups:

No word yet from our governor about this act of terrorism.

He's in a quandry. While he does want to offend his base, he must worry about women drifting away from Republicans. He has a draconian bill in front of him for signing, that would affect contraceptive education and further restrict women's reproductive health decisions. He might just ignore it, without signing or vetoed that legislation. Under our state's constitution, after a short delay it would then become law.

Well he wouldn't want to lose the support of pro-life heros like this guy:
Grady was arrested about two hours later for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he became involved in a traffic crash in Kaukauna, the complaint says.
...
Outside the courthouse, Grady told reporters, “I’m here to do good and not wrong.”

LONDON (AP) — The terror plot involved targeting British reserve troops using a toy-car packed with explosives.

But investigators said Thursday Britain's domestic spy agency of MI5 and police were able to stop Zahid Iqbal, Mohammed Sharfaraz Ahmed, Umar Arshad and Syed Farhan Hussain before they could launch the deadly attack.

Iqbal and Ahmed were given extended sentences of 16 years and 3 months, which means they will be in jail for more than 11 years and put on parole for the rest of the time. Arshad was sentenced to more than six years in jail, while Hussain received more than five years.

The British men — aged between 22 and 31 — pleaded guilty in March to engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism.

Canada thwarts 'major terrorist attack' with arrests: CBC

(Reuters) - Canadian police and intelligence agencies will announce multiple arrests on Monday after an operation to thwart a "major terrorist attack," the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported, citing unidentified "highly placed" sources.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in a statement that they would provide details about a "national security criminal investigation" at a news conference at 3:30 p.m. ET

The statement, which gave no details of arrests, said security forces had conducted joint operations in Toronto and in Montreal, Canada's two biggest cities.
