If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

Do you think Dick "Fudd" Cheney needs more secret powers?

Yes, we must trust him to be honorable and truthful

Dick "Fudd" Cheney plays Folsom Prison

This is so excellent, it deserves it's own thread!

In other news, Dick Cheney claims Presidential powers to release classified information when it suits him. That way, he can let his pal Scooter off the hook!
Q Let me ask you another question. Is it your view that a Vice President has the authority to declassify information?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: There is an executive order to that effect.

Q There is.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Yes.

Q Have you done it?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, I've certainly advocated declassification and participated in declassification decisions. The executive order --

Q You ever done it unilaterally?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: I don't want to get into that. There is an executive order that specifies who has classification authority, and obviously focuses first and foremost on the President, but also includes the Vice President.

That's a good one, Ned. Remember that one time when the Vice President shot someone in the face and didnt tell anyone, then didnt accept responsability for it for 4 days?

Thin drizzle-shit even for you, Flim-Flan.

Gore was referring to some shady solicitation of campaign contributions. Not good, I'll grant you, but it's hardly a treasonous offense, regardless of degree.

And again, here you go with the "he did it so all's fair" weak-tit defense. Christ, you may as well cite a traffic ticket or some shit.

"Gorebot was going 85 in a 65, so if Cheney wants to give explicit instructions to Libby to leak a CIA operative's name ... "

See where I'm going with this, Ned? Don't answer. It's a rhetorical question. I know you don't.

Maybe you could remind us what the GOP had to say about that then?

Jeebus, you are a breathing contradiction. Nearly every single argument you make is, "some Democrat did something." Does someone pay you to do this or is it voluntary? Fess up, you DO work for George Soros don't you?

It's just a matter of proving that it's business as usual. Cuts throught some of the faux/misguided outrage around here.

And yes, Uncle George once bought me a pony.

So in the event a Dem wins in '08 and proceeds to fuck-up the country even worse (like that's possible), we on the Left can just point to any indiscretions and say "Cheney shot a guy" and you'll be okay with that, right?

So two wrongs DO make a right then. 2+2=5! War is Peace! I get it now. Thanks for my re-education. The President and Vice President ARE above the law. The Iraq War is just and Flanders is always right. It's all so clear now. Nice pony.
