No, these do not appear on the sleeve of every cops jacket, but I kinda like it...

True, you don't see it in a lot of places here - very different situation from, say, Chicago, where you see their city's flag everywhere.

But then I've gotta say, Chicago's is my favorite of all U.S. city flags I've seen.

Ours is interesting - It's a surprisingly literal representation of the Isthmus, yet it still looks very flag-like.

The flag looks oddly familiar. Could it be NM?

Both New Mexico's state flag and Wichita's city flag use similar-looking, Native American symbolism.

Here's Wichita's:

Maybe we can all chip in and buy Ned a Madison flag and he can post a youtube video of his family burning it while chanting and jeering.

Something to paste on your luggage so it doesn't get burned by handlers in overseas airports. They'll think you are from Canada or something.

1. So we self-rightous liberal do-gooders can have something to wrap ourselves in.

2. To provide neo-cons with something they may use to get in on the fun of burning flags and expressing their constitutional rights. See my offer to Ned above. I found one for $30, Ned, if you'll burn it and post video I'll buy it. Seriously.

edited for typo

They have streaming gallantry now? That's great; can I synch it to my treo?

I need all the extra gallantry I can get - being named after a Knight of the Round Table gives people certain expectations for my behavior.

Actually, Madison's had this flag for decades. It was officially adopted in 1962 -- was designed by some Madison Boy Scouts who were also in the Drum & Bugle Corps -- wanted something to wave around, I guess.

Do we need a flag? Of course! How will we ever get Fitchburg back unless we have something to plant in the ground when we claim it?
