The GONZO Way
A Celebration of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson
by Anita Thompson
I wish I could say yep.
This teensy weensy tiny little microscopic coffee cup book
(too small for a coffee table)
is a sort of 10 Lessons for the Gonzo Warrior by the late Dr's wife.
I was hoping for even more strangely compelling tales of Thompson's perpetual life theater.
But there is barely a tale or two and nary a book.
Anita Thompson writes as if she was 40 years younger than he and really not nearly endowed with the same intellectual acumen or revolutionary spirit.
Oh, wait. That is her.
Lacking, shallow, disappointing.
Honest, I guess, in a Reader's Digest page-and-a-half True Life Inspirational Tale of Hope.
But it feels like a fan's blog at hallmark.com instead of a wife's inside perspective.
Or maybe my heart is just to scarred and calloused these days.
BORROW, BUY, OR BURN?
Hell, just skim a copy at Borders.
It'll only take a minute.
