Just a quick note to let you know that Navan (Celtic traditional singing trio based in Madison, recently returned from Boston) is launching into a flurry of activity over the next few weeks, including a CD release party and a spot on National Public Radio.
Liane Hansen will interview us the morning of March 11 for Weekend Edition Sunday (airs between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. - we'll have details soon). Then that evening, we'll kick off the Irish season in style with two short sets at the annual St. Pat's Eve festival (4p.m. and 6p.m.), held this year at the High Noon Saloon.
We'll be interviewed in-studio by WORT's Tracy Doreen on March 12th at 11:30 a.m. Chances of spontaneous on-air singing: 100-110%.
March 14th has us at the Overture Center for a 10 a.m. show with the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance; we'll hold the Madison CD release party for our third album, Lowena (''Joy'') that evening from 6-8 p.m. at the High Noon Saloon, featuring a joint concert with Boston's most magnificent Irish duo, Matt & Shannon Heaton.
We had a busy year in 2006, capping things off with multiple sold-out shows in Boston's Cutler Majestic Theatre as part of WGBH's annual stage production, ''A Celtic Christmas Sojourn.'' If you'd like any more information, give us a shout! For faster and/or more colorful service, buy us a pint!!
All the best,
