Jesus, those cats on the windowsill are scary looking.

Going from the rubber duckies to those demonic felines is like wandering into the kitchen at breakfast time, carelessly opening a bright yellow box of Cheerios, and finding a severed hand inside.

I hate it when that happens.

I knew those cats. Their owner used to sun herself and her cats on her porch. Friendly cats.

I miss the protest photos.

If it's cats vs protest photos, right now I'll take the cats. I need a break.

I love those funny cats, anyway.

Everybody wants to be a comedian. Okay. I'll admit it. The posters are witty. And the cats were a little scary.

The photo bar at the top of the online Isthmus is, IMHO, very cool. The artwork is appealing and I love trying to figure out where the photo was taken. Nice work people.

Scared the shit out of DH the other day when we were driving to a friend's place on Lake Wisconsin and went by Mr. Zips and I yelled - THAT'S IT! (I knew I had seen it before, but I couldn't remember where. Haven't been out that way in a few years.)

I like some of the newer photos. The colored corn was real pretty and some of the parks also.

We switch is seasonally. Although the calendar still reads summer, officially, Madison has moved on to autumn in terms of overall vibe. So soccer, falling leaves and football are the order of the day.

This might be a good time to remind you that anyone can submit a header photo if you're interested. We can crop or you can. The dimensions are 936 x 115 (pixels).

cat protest photos.

like the one with the cat with the "no mubarak" sign around its neck. (http://twitpic.com/3vq32p)

there used to be two cats walking around the neighbourhood that would sometimes have index cards around their collars with things like "minihan for county executive" "stop the war" and support for the various opponents of d. blaska when he was our county supervisor.

That smokestack (or steamstack?) shot is eerily 9-11-esque.
I had to do a doubletake to realize it was the power plant.

The photo of the sandhill cranes crossing the street is great. That makes me smile every time I see it.

Same here! I was happy to see that one back in the rotation.

Same with the one showing the train at First St. and Fordem, in the snow.

I was thinking I'd have to take a picture of the traffic light forest on Cottage Grove Rd. myself just to make sure it got onto the photo bar. Glad to see I wasn't alone; that's a great oddball sight on my drive into town.
