Mr. Tarr's statistics in "Health care by the numbers are wrong." According to the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Service, infant mortality is oversted by a factor of ten. Also the number of uninsured in Wisconsin is approximately 5% of the population so the statement of 1.2 million uninsured in 2007 and 2008 is a funny number as as the 250,000 of employed that lack health insurance.
Single payer still needs an infrastructure. Single payer does not reduce the ever increasing cost of health care. UW Health Care, Dean and Group Health provide incentives for customers to live a more healthy life style. I am not aware that Medicare, Medicaid or VA Care has those incentives.
