I call on you to refudiate this statement.

Hell, not even Jim Belushi needs a Jim Belushi.

This summer I've been enjoying New Belgium Trippel and tallboys of Schlitz and Coors.

Just like I love White Castle sliders AND really good Kobe beef sashimi I see no point in limiting my taste buds to only one kind of flavor.

Check this out. I think it was taken in Chicago at 11:26am several decades ago.

Did you see that Jim Belushi is in Roman Polanski's "The Ghost Writer"? When you're Roman Polanski, you take what you can get.

Belushi's appearance was jarring, to say the least -- but he still acted rings around castmate Kim Cattrell, which is neither surprising nor an accomplishment, I know, it's just that... aw, fuck it, they both suck.

IBUs have replaced Scoville units among that certain group of men who get off on seeing just how unpalatable a flavor they can stomach. The last beer tasting event I went to, fully 2/3 of the brews were hoppy pale ales desperately trying to out-bitter each other.

+1.

The other day I was googling the Great American Beer Festival, and came across the statistic that, in 2009, the category with the most entries was American-Style India Pale Ale, 134 entries. In 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2005 as well. And that category was distinct from English-Style India Pale Ale and Imperial India Pale Ale. I enjoy an occasional IPA, but it seems like brewers are using it now to see who has the biggest- err, hops.

The Coors you brought to practice last week was mighty delicious. The Banquet Beer!

Flat Tire is the most successful marketing of a garbage beer since Corona.

Hell, Corona's was so good I ended up kinda liking it.

At least you can drink a Corona on a hot day and not feel bloated.

I miss Old Style, was always my cheap beer of choice. Anyone know if it's still out there?

For me, it used to be 8-packs of Huber longnecks. $1.89. It advertised itself as a "whole-grain beverage."

Huber Hi-Brau was our beer of choice in college, and it was a "Pure All-Grain Beer" if my hazy memories are correct.

And yes, Pabst Brewing Co. still makes Old Style: http://www.oldstylebeer.com/

Yes, Old Style is still out there as well as my old standby, Old Mil. What can I say, I was young, we'd just bought a house, and it was three bucks a twelve.

But whatever the name on the bottle, it's all Pabst now.
