Bells Hopslam

Postby rrnate » Tue Mar 24, 2009 2:53 pm

Has anyone had Hopslam from Bells? It is so very delicious.

I understand it's only around for a fairly small window of time, so if you like your beer really hoppy (think two two-hearted-ales in one) you may want to get on it before it's too late and all hope is lost.

I'm not a hops devotee, but I think there could be no better and succinct name for a beer than Hopslam.

Are you saying that Miller Lite isn't the hoppiest brew available? But they put the hops in 3 Times!!.

Shouldn't that be, "all hop is lost?"

I mean, god forbid we should leave a cheap, obvious pun just sitting there...

It is available cold on tap at Restaurant Magnus. Coincidentally, I will be playing jazz there tonight (Tuesday) from 7-9pm with saxophonist Anders Svanoe. How's that for a shameless plug?

Not a fan of the super-hoppy beers, but I love Bells so I will have to try it (a sixer is too much money for the sampling of one beer). Anywhere else besides Magnus have it? Weary?

It's expensive - $15.99 for a sixer last time I picked one up, but it's worth it if you're into that kinda thing. Of all the hop-monsters I've tried this is my favorite. I prefer Hopslam to Stone's Ruination myself.
