Fuck yall.

I'm a member of the.......

NEAR (hold fingers in upside-down V against chest)

EAST (turn hand sideways and extend three fingers to the left)

MILITIA! (turn hand upside-down again but leave three fingers extended)

We don't allow anyone to ever become a member, not even me.

you've definately got dual membership....not sure if I'm a "downown rock clown" though.

well, i'll grant you dual membership too, 1/2 wsy, based purely on your sweet pad, 1/2 east cuz you go to shows/play on the eastside.

"sweet pad"????
Yours rules for the simple fact that you have the lesbo fridge.
That, and the best LIIT in town.
Sorry, I can't compete with that.

There undeniably are cliques in the Madison music scene. I hear four of them before a lot of rock band's songs!

Which clique are you in? What does your clique do for you - socially, philosophically, etc, etc?

We're not in a clique, don't know who's ass to kiss; tired of
trying to figure it out. I think we'll just play out of town for
awhile, those seem to be the best gigs. People show up, dance,
drink and have fun everywhere besides Madison.

What the hell is a lesbo fridge, and where can I get one? Or better yet, two.

A Lesbian Fridge?

You mean I actually get to hear a gay version of the Super Bowl Shuffle sometime?

Nice.

I feel like I'm surrounded here. We need some more Downtown Ass Clowns to back me up!

You can call them cliques or whatever, but I think it's important to play shows with other bands that have the same vibe as you. It's a good way to avoid the "people leaving after so and so's set" scenario. I don't think it's anything for people to take so personally. A solid line up makes a better show. No need to equate it to the fraternal bonding practice amongst junior high school students.

Yes, but it's also true that cross-pollination is healthy for the organism. Few people like ONLY punk or ONLY theremin-barbershop-metal. Inter-clique bills are a good way to expose your stuff to folks who might not otherwise stumble across it.

When I say "the same vibe" I don't mean the same genre. There's a difference.
