The SoCo Music Experience on Willow Island wasn't the only big corporate-sponsored free concert held in Madison over the last week. On Tuesday evening, McDonald's sponsored a free concert at the Capitol end of State Street featuring two bands: the Christian rock quintet Relient K and the pop rock group The Last Goodnight. This photo shows Relient K playing at the Carroll Street stage; it's one of seven featuring the band's early evening show.
"I saw a free Relient K concert in front of the Capitol building in downtown Madison today," writes a fan. "So, if I didn't like Madison before, I absolutely love it now. Just cuz I saw Relient K for free. And it was fabulous. They sang 'Pink Tux to the Prom.' Old songs rock." More details about the show can also be found in a review published in The Badger Herald.
