A trio of performers romp about the stage at the Mount Horeb High School auditorium during one of two Wild Rumpus Winter Circus shows on Saturday, January 31. Titled "Loose in Donald Park!", the spectacle included performances by Cheney and Mills, Cycropia Aerial Dance, The Madison Unicyclists, The Mazo Flyers, and The Trolltown Clowns.
"Many of the youth in the cast have been studying the circus arts for years through Mt. Horeb Recreation Department classes taught by local performing artists Nina Cheney and Jacob Mills and at the Wild Rumpus Circus Camps in Mazomanie," note show organizers in an announcement about the circus. "Mills and aerial artist Marcia Miquelon co-founded the camp 8 years ago and its multi-age summer sessions, which teach clown, trapeze, stilt-walking and numerous other skills, have been filled to capacity ever since."
This winter circus also served as a benefit for Clowns Without Borders South Africa, which uses laughter to improve the outlook of children living in communities facing crises. "The two shows were well attended and the audiences were well entertained," notes Hauser in the caption.
