Today's image is titled "Prepping for winter foliage" and was photographed by Kristian Knutsen.
City of Madison crews have been busy gardening on the Capitol Square and along State Street over the last week, clearing planters of their summer flora before the season turns, and before anything gets trampled or provides a tempting projectile at the Freakfest celebration of Halloween. Before too long, though, there will be a fresh crop of evergreen boughs spilling out of the planters in celebration of winter, placed just in time to capture the approaching snow.
