Today's image is titled LodiJoe and was photographed by Kelly Osborn.
These waning weeks of the 2008 presidential election have been full of the usual silliness, including the media ascent of Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, known to the world in the persona of Joe the Plumber. Despite being promoted mercilessly by the McCain campaign and its backers, though, this partisan persona of an American workingman in support of supply-side economics is not taking hold everywhere, including Wisconsin. The declaration, "This plumber pays taxes and is a vote for Obama," on the back of the minivan in this photo is but one response to the image being manufactured by Republicans in the campaign homestretch.
"I saw this van parked on Main Street in Lodi on Sunday afternoon," notes Osborne in the caption. "I just had to go back to snap this picture."
