The tenth annual Wisconsin Film Festival kicked off on Thursday night with 20 film screenings at venues around downtown Madison, the first of a four day bender of cinema that marks the onset of spring in town. As always, the center of the action is the Orpheum Theatre on State Street, the site of two screens and located conveniently betwixt the other theaters concentrated on the UW campus and around the Capitol Square. Many of the fest's biggest films are screened at the old movie palace, and a long line outside its front doors will be a common sight over the weekend.
