At the Wisconsin Book Festival during Saturday's taping of a Wisconsin Public Radio segment for broadcast next month on "To the Best of Our Knowledge," Chris Ware explains which label he considers most suitable for what he does: graphic novelist or comics artist? The short video follows below.

Chris Ware and Marjane Satrapi were among the Wisconsin Book Festival guests sitting for a series of "WPR Live" tapings with "To the Best of Our Knowledge" host Jim Fleming on Saturday afternoon, for broadcast next month on the popular Wisconsin Public Radio show.

Over the course of an hour, the acclaimed graphic novelists answered Fleming's wide-ranging, thoroughly researched and exquisitely crafted suite of questions about how and why they do what they do -- and, in the case of this response by Ware, how they refer to their medium. Does he think of himself as a graphic novelist or a comics author and artist? Ware's answer hints at the rich content toward which listeners can look forward when they tune in the full segment on "To the Best of Our Knowledge."
