The Madison Repertory Theatre has released a sneak preview of its 2008-09 season. The season opener has not yet been chosen, but the Rep has revealed the names of six other productions.
Next year's program includes an adaptation of ancient Greek tales, a popular musical, and several plays familiar from their movie versions. This 40th annual season will feature:
- The Greeks by John Barton & Kenneth Carendar, directed by Eric Hill
- Frankie and Johnny in the Claire De Lune by Terrence McNally, directed by Richard Corley
- Educating Rita by Willy Russell, directed by Richard Corley
- My Fair Lady by Alan Jay Lerner & Frederick Lowe, directed by Richard Corley
The Rep also continues its commitment to new works with the Madison New Play Festival, and to a new generation with the Madison Young Playwrights Festival. Details about these productions are provided in a press release from the Rep, available in the related downloads at right.
Tickets for all productions next season will go on sale in August, and all shows are to be staged at The Playhouse in the Overture Center.
